5 Easy Ways to Apply Essential Oils
If you need a better way to apply essential oils on-the-go, or you just want to make essential oil application more convenient, there are several oil ways to use essential oils that will fit perfectly into your busy schedule.
You’re more likely to use your essential oils when they are in a convenient, easy to use form or container.
Keep reading for a few simple ideas that will make essential oil application even easier.
1) Essential oil roller bottles
One of the simplest and most popular ways to apply essential oils topically is by using essential oil roller bottles to roll the oil straight onto the skin without worrying about excess oil. Using essential oil roller bottles will allow you to apply the essential oil in the area of your choosing with precision, and will ensure that you don’t get more than the desired amount.
If you want to place your favorite essential oils (or a combination of oils) into an essential oil roller bottle, consider purchasing a few rollers. These empty essential oil roller bottles will allow you to add the essential oil(s) of your choice and apply them easily whenever you want. Just add up to 30 drops of essential oil (for an adult), then top off with your favorite carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil or Grapeseed Oil.
2) Veggie capsules
When you are looking for a simple way to take essential oils internally, Veggie Caps provide an easy solution for internal use. Veggie Caps are empty vegetarian capsules that provide a healthy way to manage your essential oil supplement intake. If there are certain essential oils that you do not like the taste of, or if you want a simple way to consume essential oils that have been approved for internal use, Veggie Caps provide a quick way to take essential oils orally.
Here’s a popular Veggie Capsule that you can grab from Amazon:
3) Add to water or beverages
Along with using Veggie Caps, another easy way to take essential oils internally is to add a few drops to a glass of water, tea, a smoothie, or your favorite beverage. Not only will adding oils to your water or beverage provide some extra flavor, but it will make it easy to reap the benefits of oils that have been approved for internal use.
For example, you might consider adding a few drops of Wild Orange oil to your water in the afternoon if you need a pick-me-up, or if you are trying to avoid sugary drinks and sodas. You can also add some Bergamot oil to regular tea to make it Earl Grey, or add some drops of Peppermint oil to your morning smoothie for a refreshing flavor.
Make sure you are using a water bottle that is safe to use with essential oils. Here are a couple favorites from Amazon.
4) Add to carrier oil or lotion
In addition to using essential oil roller bottles, another easy way to apply essential oils topically is to combine a few drops of oil with a carrier oil, or your favorite lotion, or moisturizer. If you want to incorporate an essential oil into your skincare routine, simply add a few drops of the oil to your daily facial lotion or moisturizer (after ensuring that the essential oil is approved for topical use).
I have several DIY’s on my blog that incorporates essential oils into everyday personal care items such as Whipped Body Butter, Foot Moisturizer, Clay Face Mask, Sunburn Spray, Foot Mask, Razor Serum, and more. These are all a great way to incorporate essential oils into your daily routine and move away from commercial produst with lots of synthetics and chemicals that aren’t good for us.
If you want to increase the absorption of essential oils on the skin, dilute the oil with a carrier oil like Fractionated Coconut Oil or Grapeseed Oil. To make the application of Fractionated Coconut Oil even easier, consider purchasing a bottle that comes with a pump for easy dispensing.
I love these carrier oils from Amazon that all come with easy pumps or applicators.
5) Spray bottles
Placing essential oils in a spray bottle is another simple way to disperse or apply oils aromatically or topically.
- When you want to freshen your furniture or linens, try combining essential oils in a spray bottle with water and misting the combination over the fabric.
- When you want to promote a restful night of sleep, spritz relaxing essential oils over your pillows and bedding to create a calming environment.
- If you want to create your own essential oil perfume, combine several complimentary essential oils (that have been approved for topical application) together in a spray bottle and spritz on the wrists to keep the aroma with you throughout the day.
Here are some of my favorite spray bottles on Amazon. Pick up a few to have them on hand whenever you need them.
And there you have it. Five easy ways to use your essential oils. When you keep your oils in a handy and easy to use format, you are more likely to use them. Don’t keep them stored away in the cupboard in their original bottle. Yes, it takes some time up front to put them in an easy to use format, but the time spent is well worth it in the long run.
