- 【LARGE CAPACITY CHOCOLATE MELTING POT】- 600ml/20oz capacity; 4.5inch long heat resistant handle; double pour spouts both sides, flat bottom. Made of 18/8 stainless steel, rust resistant and durable. This quality double boiler with humanized design brings you a great using experience.
You’ll use be able to use this double boiler in many DIY projects. And you can even use this double boiler to melt chocolate for baking!
When making this foot ointment and any other DIY beauty project like this whipped body butter that requires you to melt ingredients together, you’ll need to melt all the ingredients in a double boiler so this is an inexpensive investment that will make your life much easier.
Ingredients for your homemade foot ointment
You’ll want to use organic ingredients when possible. You will be absorbing the ingredients into your body through your skin – our largest organ. You do not want to be absorbing harmful preservatives and synthetic ingredients which can disrupt hormones, and cause all kinds of health issues.
Essential Oils
When choosing essential oils to use for your DIY projects, be sure you are choosing a high quality, TRUE essential oil and not one that is fragrance only as so many from the drug stores are. I choose to use doTERRA essential oils. They are the purest, highest quality and only brand I use. .
Tea Tree Essential oil adds extra benefits for your skin and toenails.
Tea Tree can help with unsightly toenails and is wonderful for your skin – it can help anyone who suffers from scaling, inflammation, itching and burning
You can substitute Peppermint Essential Oil in place of the Tea Tree essential oil, and you’ll have a really wonderful cooling balm that feels fantastic on tired feet.
Shea Butter
Shea Butter is a wonderfully nourishing ingredient used in many natural products. Be sure to choose one that is raw and unrefined. This is the one I have used for this and many other projects and it is a great price. (Look at the price per ounce when shopping price for raw ingredients.). You’ll have enough left to make a few other DIY projects .

I am wondering if you could use cocoa butter in place of the shea butter? Thanks, Rhonda Brown
Hi Rhonda – I haven’t done it, but I don’t see why you couldn’t use cocoa butter. It is very similar in texture to shea butter so I think it would work well. Let me know how it turns out if you try it!
