DIY Linen Spray (a.k.a. Sleepy Time Spray)
Fall asleep quickly and easily with this DIY Linen Sleepy Time Spray made with your choice of either Lavender or doTERRA Serenity essential oils.
This linen bedtime spray is super easy to make and only takes a couple minutes and 2 ingredients: essential oils and either water or witch hazel.
My favorite time of day to use this sleepy time spray is just before bed. Your sheets and pillow will smell heavenly and will relax your mind and body to help you gently fall asleep.
Kids love to use this linen, too! This can be a wonderful way to help your child calm down at the end of the day. Especially when they are overtired and can't relax enough to fall asleep.
Moms, you know what I'm talking about. When your kiddo is so exhausted they just won't let their minds and bodies relax and they cry to try to self sooth, or just keep talking or fighting it. This can be a game changer in that moment for them. You can even spray their jammies!!
You can even put the power in their little hands, and let them spray down their sheets themselves. They will feel empowered and in control. Especially if you include them when making your linen spray. Let me hold the bottle of essential oils and drip the oils into your spray bottle while counting the number of drops. My children love this. t's a fun activity to do together and they can't wait to use the linen spray at bedtime.
Kids love to use essential oils!
- Add the drops of Lavender or Serenity essential oil to the spray bottle
- Top off the spray bottle with the distilled water or Witch Hazel.
- Shake gently to combine.
Note: You could optionally use Vodka or Witch Hazel in place of the water. The essential oils will actually bind to these liquids. We all know water and oil don’t mix. However, I have not found the water to be a problem. I gently shake the bottle before spraying and it works great! The water is readily available and costs less.
**Spray bottles are usually available at your local health food store. They are also available on Amazon. There are a variety colors and sizes available at different price points. Keep in mind that prices fluctuate. Here is a set of 6: Amazon 2 oz Glass Spray Bottles set of 6
