Ingredients For Your Homemade Apple Cinnamon Sugar Scrub
This sugar scrub is easy to make with a few basic ingredients:
You’ll need some sugar. Preferably organic. This is going on your skin, the largest organ in your body so you don’t want any toxins to be absorbed. You can use a combination of white & brown sugar, or all of one type, or substitute the sugar with sea salt if you prefer. There’s no right or wrong.
You’ll need a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil. Use what you have – no need to go buy something specific.
This is my favorite jojoba oil that I use for almost all of my skin care diy’s:
Essential Oils for scent. Please be sure to use a high quality, 100% pure essential oil and not fragrance oil. Fragrance oil is typically synthetic and contains toxic ingredients that can damage your skin and wreak havoc on your hormones. Just because a product has a lot of reviews on Amazon, doesn’t make it pure essential oil. You’d be amazed how much synthetic essential oils are out there.
Essential Oil recommendations:
I used a combination of Cassia (“poor man’s cinnamon”), clove, and ginger which make for a lovely fall scent. I use this same combination in fall scented room sprays and fall diffuser blends. To me, it’s the scent of the season. You can switch it up and use any essential oils you like or have on hand.
How to Make Your Apple Cinnamon Sugar Scrub
Making your sugar scrub couldn’t be easier!
First, add your sugars or salts to a bowl.
Then, add your carrier oil to the sugars. I used this sweet almond oil.
Finally, add your essential oils. You can use more or less essential oils depending on how strong you want the scent to be.
I recommend using fall scented essential oils. I used a combination of Cassia, Clove, and Ginger – my favorite fall scent.
The last step is to mix all the ingredients well until you have a consistency you like. Add more sugar, carrier oil, or essential oils until you are happy.
Store your sugar scrub in an air tight container like a mason jar. I like these jars with the clamp lid.
To use your sugar scrub, scoop out a small amount into your hands and massage into your skin. You can use a washcloth if you prefer. The scrub is perfect for exfoliating dry skin to get a smooth, moisturized glow.

This is just what my skincare routine needed. Perfect for fall vibes!
made it last nite, smells good and the kids liked it too lol
Fantastic!
This was so easy to make! I love it.
can i use regular sugar for this or nah?
Yes, regular sugar is just fine.
Love this idea for a fall sugar scrub, Dawn! Gonna mix some up this weekend.
I tried it! It’s amazing how simple and effective it is. Smells like heaven.
Does it leave an oily residue? Concerned about my skin type.
Not really, although your skin will definitely feel more moisturized. Jojoba is a good choice for oily skin and it is exfoliating so will help keep pores unclogged and your skin will glow.
