Equipment You’ll Want to Use to Make DIY Cuticle Cream
One piece of equipment that you’ll find useful for many DIY projects is this handy little double boiler. You can fit it on top of your existing pots and pans! I love that it’s small and doesn’t take up a bunch of precious space in my kitchen cabinets.
- 【LARGE CAPACITY CHOCOLATE MELTING POT】- 600ml/20oz capacity; 4.5inch long heat resistant handle; double pour spouts both sides, flat bottom. Made of 18/8 stainless steel, rust resistant and durable. This quality double boiler with humanized design brings you a great using experience.
Ingredients for your DIY Cuticle Cream
Shea Butter for your cuticle cream
Shea butter can be found in many lotions and creams because of it is super moisturizing for our skin. You want to buy RAW Shea Butter for your DIY projects.- not a lotion or cream. One package will last for many projects. I have bought THIS ONE and love it.
Beeswax for your cuticle cream
Beeswax pellets are easy to work with and melt quickly. I find them easier to work with than the large chunks of beeswax. Make sure to buy one that has no fillers or additives like THIS ONE.
Fractionated Coconut Oil for your cuticle cream
Fractionated Coconut Oil is not the same as the big tub of coconut oil you likely have in your kitchen cabinet for cooking. Fractionated Coconut Oil has been a bit more processed so that it always stays in liquid form. This version is what we are using for this DIY project. I always buy this one because it is made right here in the USA.
Essential Oils for your cuticle cream
You’ll want to make sure to use a high quality, therapeutic grade essential oil for this DIY project. Please do not use a cheap fragrance oil , which is what most so called essential oils are that are found in superstores and home stores. They can actually be quite toxic, especially when applying to your skin.
The only brand I trust to use on my skin is doTERRA Essential Oils, which are so pure they are safe to consume! I recommend using either Lavender, Myrrh, or a combination of the two. Many people don’t realize how good Lavender essential oil is for our skin – especially dry skin.
