What is green tea powder A.K.A. Matcha
Matcha or green tea powder is a finely ground powder made from shade-grown green tea leaves from Japan. It is rich in antioxidants and is commonly used in Japanese tea ceremonies.
Matcha boasts a high concentration of antioxidants, making it a popular choice among health-conscious individuals.
This powdered form of green tea is often used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, where it is whisked with hot water to create a frothy and invigorating beverage. Its unique flavor profile and potential health benefits have also led to its incorporation in various culinary creations, such as desserts, smoothies, and even savory dishes.
Matcha powder has several benefits for the skin when used in a facemask, such as providing antioxidants, reducing inflammation, and improving skin complexion.

Why you’ll love a Green tea Face Mask
Supplies and Ingredients You’ll need for your Matcha green Tea Face Mask
Before you get started, gather all your supplies and ingredients so you have them handy. It will speed up making your face mask.

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Pink Kaolin Clay
- Aloe Vera Powder
- Matcha / Green Tea Powder
This is the one I used because I like this brand. I buy and drink many of their teas. Specifically, their hibiscus tea, gunpowder green tea, and breakfast tea. Mamavation has tested other tea products by this brand and they have been found to NOT have any traces of harmful ingredients including PFAS.
Carrier Oil – I use Jojoba oil in this green tea mask because it is closest to our skins natural oil. You can use any carrier oil, however I do recommend staying away from coconut oil for this because it can clog pores.
