DIY Gentle Coffee and Oatmeal Face and Body Scrub with Vanilla Essential Oil

This homemade coffee face and body scrub is a gentle coffee scrub, so it can be used as a body scrub, and / or as a facial exfoliant. The coffee and oatmeal are ground into a fine powder so it will not be too harsh on the skin. Add your favorite essential oil – I used Vanilla!

What you’ll need to make this Coffee Face and Body Scrub
You’ll need the following items:
Organic is preferred, but certainly not required. If organic isn’t in your budget, use what you can.
- Oatmeal
- Coffee
- Carrier oil of choice (I used Avocado Oil)
- Essential Oil (optional) I used Vanilla
How to make this Coffee and Oatmeal Face and Body Scrub
The first step is to make a coffee infused oil by soaking the carrier oil with coffee grinds. Store this in your cupboard or pantry for a couple of weeks and then it’s ready to use.
Once your coffee infused oil is ready, you can move on to the next step.
The next step is to grind the oats and coffee grounds together until you get a fine powder. This is what makes this scrub gentle on your skin. Larger pieces are harsher on your skin and make make a great body exfoliant, but I wouldn’t recommend using it on the delicate skin on your face.
Once you have your powder made, add your essential oil of choice to the coffee infused oil. I used Vanilla. Use more or less drops of essential oil depending on how strong you like the scent. Start small and add more until you get the scent that you like.
Finally, mix the powder with the coffee infused oil.
Store your scrub in a glass mason jar or container of choice.
To use your Scrub, while in the bath or shower, mix a handful with some water and gently spread over your body and/or face. Use a washcloth if preferred. Then rinse. Your skin should feel soft and smooth!
