Ingredients for Your Homemade Turmeric and Honey Facemask
You’ll need the following ingredients to make a turmeric and honey facemask:
Ground Turmeric – I used this one. You can probably find some at your local health food store.
Raw Honey – be sure to use a high quality RAW honey. RAW honey hasn’t been ultra processed and all of the beneficial “stuff” is still in it. If you use a processed honey, you won’t get the same results.
I really like Nate’s raw honey.
Coconut milk – organic is preferred if possible.
Coconut milk offers several benefits for the skin.
- It can moisturize, nourish, and hydrate the skin, helping to maintain its softness and suppleness.
- It contains antioxidants that can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
- It also has antimicrobial properties that may assist in treating certain skin conditions.
I bought a canned organic coconut milk from the grocery store that I used.
Essential Oils – be sure to use a high quality, pure essential oil and NOT a fragrance oil. Fragrance oil will damage your skin.
Frankincense and Orange oil are used in this mask because they have some really amazing benefits for the skin.
Frankincense essential oil has many benefits for the skin, including:
- Moisturizing and nourishing the skin.
- Helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
- Soothing and calming irritated skin.
- Promoting a healthy and radiant complexion.
- Supporting the skin’s natural healing process.
- Balancing oily or acne-prone skin.
- Improving the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
Orange essential oil offers several benefits for the skin.
It can help brighten the complexion, improve the texture of the skin, and promote a healthy glow.
Additionally, orange essential oil has antibacterial properties that can help with acne and other skin conditions.
Lastly, it has a refreshing and uplifting scent, making it a popular choice for aromatherapy and relaxation.
If you do use orange essential oil, don’t use this mask right before going outside in the sun because citrus oils can be photosensitive. Meaning your skin will sunburn more easily than usual.
Instructions to Prepare and Apply the Facemask
It’s really simple to prepare this facemask. Combine all of the ingredients in a GLASS Bowl. Don’t use plastic because the essential oils and plastic don’t play well together.
You want to make a paste, so add more coconut milk as needed until you get the right consistency.
