Supplies and Ingredients Needed to Make Pumpkin Spice Soap
You don’t need a lot of ingredients or supplies to make pumpkin spice soap.
We are going to use Melt and Pour Soap base which has already had the saponification process done for you and takes out the step of having to use Lye.
Here’s what you’ll need:

Step by Step Directions For How To Make Pumpkin Spice Soap
First, cut up your soap base into small squares. Some soap bases already come cut up in small squares, which is convenient and lets you skip this step.
Once cut up into small squares, slowly melt the soap base in a double boiler over a simmering pot of water on the stove, or in a glass bowl in the microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between.
Here I show it in a measuring cup:
Once the soap base is melted, add the pumpkin spice powder to it and stir until all the chunks are gone and it’s well blended.
Lastly, stir in your essential oils.
If you are adding mica powder for color, you would do this now. Skip this step if you’re not using mica powder.
The final step is to pour the soap mixture into your soap mold. Let it harden overnight and then it’s ready to use.
Pro Tip: Use a cookie sheet!
I recommend laying your silicone soap mold on a cookie sheet or cutting board before pouring your soap mixture into it. This allows it to be moved easily. I learned this the hard way.
Pumpkin Spice Soap
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin powder
- 2.5 ounces glycerin melt and pour soap base
- 10-15 drops essential oils
- Orange mica powder optional
Instructions
- Cut up the melt and pour soap base into small squares.
- Slowly melt the soap base in a double boiler over a simmering pot of water on the stove, or in a glass bowl in the microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between.
- Add in the pumpkin powder and stir until all chunks are gone.
- Add in your drops of essential oils. Then pour them into a silicone mold.
- Leave overnight to harden, then unmold and enjoy!
Notes
- Essential oils are optional, but help create the smell. Sometimes there are pumpkin spice essential oils you can use, otherwise, a blend on cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and ginger can create a nice fall smell.
- Any melt and pour soap base will work, but the clear ones helps you see the color the best.
- Without an orange mica powder, this will be a darker yellow color with the pumpkin powder.
