DIY Floral Soap Bars With Melt and Pour Soap Base
Learn how to make these pretty DIY Floral Soap Bars which make impressive handmade mother's day gifts. The homemade floral soaps are made with melt and pour soap base and toxin free.
Equipment
Flower silicone molds
Rectangle silicone mold
Wavy soap cutter
Ingredients
1
lb
white melt-and-pour soap base
Mica powders
blue, pink, yellow, purple, green
15
drops
essential oils of choice
Instructions
Cut the soap base into small cubes so it melts evenly.
Place a small amount of soap base into a heat-safe silicone cup. Melt slowly (microwave in short 15 second bursts or use a double boiler).
Stir in your chosen mica powder until fully blended.
Pour into flower silicone molds.
Repeat this process for each color you want to make.
Allow the flower soaps to fully set before removing them from the molds.
Melt the rest of the white soap base.
Stir in your essential oils.
Pour the melted white soap into the rectangle mold. Let it sit for about 30 seconds so it slightly thickens.
Gently place the flower soaps on top, pressing them in slightly. Continue adding flowers until the mold is filled.
Allow the soap to fully harden at room temperature before removing from the mold.
Cut using a wavy knife and enjoy!
Notes
Use any essential oil you want!
Work in small batches when coloring to prevent the soap from hardening too quickly
Let the base cool slightly before adding flowers so they don’t sink
Mix and match colors for a more natural, floral look
