How to DIY Make Scented Lotion with Essential Oils

Making scented lotion with essential oils is a simple and fun process that allows you to customize the fragrance and nourish your skin at the same time.

With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of creativity, you’ll be on your way to creating a luxurious, personalized lotion in no time.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

- Organic coconut oil - Shea butter - Almond oil or carrier oil of choice - Vitamin e oil - Drops essential oil

STEP 1

In a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl placed over a pot of simmering water, melt the coconut oil, shea butter, and almond oil together. Stir gently until they are fully melted and combined.

STEP 2

Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. You can place it in the refrigerator for quicker cooling, but make sure it doesn't solidify completely.

STEP 3

Add the vitamin E oil and any essential oils of your choice. Essential oils are highly concentrated, so start with less drops than you think you need.

STEP 4

Transfer the mixture to a glass bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes, or until it starts to solidify around the edges.

STEP 5

Using a hand mixer, immersion blender, or a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the mixture on medium-high speed for about 5 minutes.
