Being a mom is a job for life and Mother’s Day is an ideal opportunity to say “Thank you” for everything that they do for you. What better way to show your love than by giving a home-made gift made using a few drops of lovely essential oils.

These beauty ideas will help moms to feel pampered and encourage them to take a break, away from distractions, to enjoy a moment of pure relaxation.

Fizzing Bath Bombs

DIY Bath Bomb recipe with essential oils

Bath bombs are a fun way to enjoy the benefits of essential oils and make a bath (or shower!) extra special!

Ingredients

*For relaxation, try Lavender or doTERRA™ Serenity. For a mood boost, try Wild Orange or Citrus Bliss™.

Instructions

  1. Place citric acid, baking soda, corn-starch, and oil in a bowl.
  2. Add eight to 10 drops of the essential oil or blend of choice.
  3. Mix well with spoon until soft dough is formed. It should have the consistency of damp sand. Note: If the mixture is too wet, try adding a little more baking soda and cornstarch until consistency is correct.
  4. At this point, you may add coloring, dried herbs or flower petals to mixture.  I like these colors because they are non staining.
  5. Place mixture in silicone molds. Let sit 24 hours before removing from mold. (check out these super cute heart molds!)
  6. To use, drop in tub or shower and allow to dissolve.

Natural Moisturizer

Finding the right moisturizer can be tricky, so why not make your own? This Natural Moisturizer contains Lavender Essential Oil, which is ahhhh-mazing for skin!  Lavender soothes occasional skin irritations and reduces the appearance of skin imperfections.
