Best Green Cleaning DIY’s

roundup of the best green cleaning DIY recipes for your home

Green Cleaning - It is totally possible to get your house sparkling clean with natural products.  Vinegar and baking soda are my best friends when it comes to cleaning, and I buy it in bulk.

Did you know vinegar has been around for 10,000 years and  can be used in your laundry, to clean your kitchen and bathroom and kid’s stuff too.

Essential Oils can power up your cleaning routine and  can help sanitize surfaces.

Don't be put off thinking that you'll need to set aside an entire day to make these cleaners.  They literally only take a few minutes to make.  Faster than a trip to the store to buy a chemical concoction.  And odds are, you already have all the ingredients you need.  Maybe you need to order some of the essential oils, but there are many substitutes available.  Feel free to comment below and ask me what you can use instead.

Here's a few staple recipes that I use in my home:

Powder Carpet Cleaner - Sprinkle on your carpets to deodorize and clean before vacuuming.

All Purpose Cleaning Spray
 - Use on any hard surface like kitchen and bathroom counters, toilet seats, inside the refrigerator, etc.

Soft Scrub Cleaner - Use this in showers, sinks, toilets, etc.  Let it soak for awhile to remove hard water deposits and built up grime.

Fruit & Veggie Wash - Remove dirt and pesticide residue from produce before eating it.

Dish Soap - Easy dish soap recipe that won't leave a chemical residue on your dishes.

Dishwasher Tabs - All natural tabs for your dishwasher that won't leave a chemical residue on your dishes.

Toilet - To make your toilets sparkle, put ½ cup of baking soda, 10 drops of Melaleuca, and ¼ cup of white vinegar directly into the bowl.  You could also add in a few drops of Lemon and/or Purify essential oil as well. Scrub as the vinegar and baking soda react. I usually let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then come back and scrub again.

Dusting spray for wood surfaces:  Add 1 cup water, 1/4 cup vinegar (cleans), 2 tsp olive oil (polishes and protects the wood), and 10 - 15 drops orange or lemon essential oil into a glass spray bottle.

Glass Cleaner: This works better than any commercially bought cleaner.  It will leave no streaks!

Laundry: Add a few drops of Purify or Lemon essential oil directly to the soap dispenser to get rid of musty smells.  This is especially beneficial when you forget to put the load in the dryer and need to re-wash.    Also, did you know doTERRA has an all natural laundry detergent?  Check it out here
